Navigate meticulously, explore indefinitely

At Water Linked, we believe technology should never be the limit to exploration—it should be the reason we go further. That’s why we’re proud to share a milestone that opens new frontiers for underwater navigation: our DVL A125 is now officially depth-rated to 4,000 meters.

The ocean is vast, mysterious, and mostly unexplored. While many underwater tasks are conducted at shallower depths, a growing number of missions are pushing deeper—into areas where pressure is extreme, light is absent, and visibility is near zero.

The bathypelagic zone, also called the 'midnight zone', spans from around 1,000 meters to 4,000 meters and can now be fully explored with the DVL A125. With its new depth rating, the A125 is now able to support missions at iconic locations like the Titanic wreck site, which lies at approximately 3,800 meters. Now you don't have to worry anymore about whether you can still navigate in such depths: your mission will go on!

Confidence in reliability and performance

The 4000 meters depth rating is not just a number—it's a reflection of our continued commitment to innovation, precision, and reliability in subsea navigation. It gives operators confidence in reliability and performance when venturing to extreme depths.

Our engineering team has spent a lot of time testing and validating the A125 at its new depth rating, ensuring that the sensor not only withstands the pressure, but also maintains its high performance in extreme conditions. Because it's not just about how deep you go—it's about how well you perform when you're there.

Now even more versatile

The DVL A125 has already earned a reputation as one of the most versatile Doppler Velocity Logs on the market. Known as the “Swiss army knife” of DVLs, its altitude operating range from 5 cm to 125 meters allows it to function in a wide array of underwater spaces. Whether hugging the seafloor or hovering far above it, the A125 provides precise velocity data that helps underwater vehicles accurately maintain position and travel—even in currents and complex terrain.

Able to provide accurate data up to a velocity of 9 meters per second, it’s not just for slow-moving ROVs. The A125 is equally at home on fast AUVs and USVs that demand both speed and stability.

It's also commonly used by divers operating tactical swim boards—who, of course, don't require a 4,000 m depth rating, making the 600 m version more than sufficient for their needs.

Now, with a depth rating of 4,000 meters, the A125 can operate in environments that were previously out of reach—expanding its usability across many industry applications such as scientific research, deep-sea mining, and defense operations.
