Let us describe the challenge


A Backend Project Engineer in Water Linked faces unique challenges when developing products for underwater use, such as working with constrained platforms, optimizing software for low power consumption, and designing for harsh environmental conditions. They need to have a deep understanding of hardware and signals, be skilled in low-level programming languages, and have a passion for using modern tools and technologies. 

Creating high-quality software requires continually improving skills and staying up-to-date with advancements in the field. In short, designing products for underwater use requires Embedded Project Engineers to have a unique set of skills and knowledge that allow them to create robust and reliable products in challenging environments.

What you'll do


In your daily work you will be the third addition to our Hardware expert group. The group collaborates to deliver innovative solutions into our projects, and makes up one of the five main expert groups, working closely to support the business in reaching our goals. You will cooperate across expert groups and play a crucial role in several exciting projects.  


Your tasks and responsibilities within the group will include:

  • Design mechanical parts
  • Make assembly guides
  • Develop production tests
  • Design for production
  • Acceptance testing
  • Product development
  • RnD support
  • Testing and verification
  • Prototypes and 3D printing 
  • Designing and creating testing equipment/methods
  • Lab maintenance


Typical technologies you are likely to come across:

  • 3D design and drawing
  • Cables & connectors
  • Thermal dynamics / properties
  • IP grades & pressure resistance
  • Fasteners (screws etc)
  • Material science
  • Structural strength
  • Corrosion
  • Manufacturability
  • FEM analysis

Must-haves

  • Understanding of mecatronics
  • Decent written and spoken English
  • Some experience using CAD software
